Big Easy Eats: A Weekend Of Eating In New Orleans

Welcome to the lively streets of New Orleans, where the good times roll and the food is as spicy as the jazz in the air! Let’s dive into our whirlwind adventure through the Big Easy, where every bite tells a story and every sip is a toast to the city’s rich culture.

Our journey kicked off with a bang at Felix’s, where we dive into some grilled oysters paired with ice-cold beer – the ultimate way to start our day. Next up, we’re off to Domenica for a leisurely Italian lunch and some fine wine because, hey, when in NOLA, indulgence is the name of the game.

After filling our bellies, it’s time to explore the city with a Hop-On/Hop-Off tour. We soak in the sights, sounds, and smells of New Orleans, taking in everything from historic landmarks to funky street performers. And of course, no trip to NOLA is complete without a stop at Mothers for a hearty dinner that’ll stick to your ribs in all the right ways.  As the sun sets, we head to Mannings for some drinks and a dose of that famous New Orleans hospitality.

The next morning, we’re up bright and early for a breakfast of pillowy beignets at Cafe du Monde, because calories don’t count on vacation, right?  With our energy levels topped up, we’re ready for a day of adventure. We hit up Oceana’s Hideout for drinks and brisket dogs, then channel our inner kid at the Dr. Seuss Museum before diving into the world of cocktails at Sazerac House. And what better way to celebrate a birthday than with drinks at the iconic Carousel Bar?

After a bit of sightseeing and art appreciation at Art 2 Go, we kick back on the patio of Cafe Beignet with some mimosas because brunch without booze is just a sad, late breakfast. And because no trip to NOLA is complete without some good ol’ fashioned comfort food, we chow down on gourmet hot dogs at Dat Dog.  As our time in the city winds down, we make one last stop at Krystal for dinner, soaking in the flavors and the atmosphere of this vibrant city.

Our adventure ends with a leisurely lunch at Red Fish Grill on our way to the airport, where we raise a glass to the memories made and the friendships strengthened in the heart of New Orleans. Until next time, let the good times roll!
